Globex receives industry accreditation

on 30 October 2018

Globex Freight Management has achieved Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status for the third time, once again receiving a seal of approval from industry inspectors.

AEO status is a certified standard authorisation issued by customs administrations in the European Union (EU). It certifies that a business has met certain standards in relation to:

  • safety and security
  • systems to manage commercial records
  • compliance with customs rules
  • financial solvency
  • practical standards of competence or professional qualifications.

The AEO status is a trade facilitation measure that recognises reliable operators and encourages best practice in the international supply chain.

Inspectors visited the Globex base in September and gave the firm a confirmed status as an AEO once again.  Globex has now held the status continuously since 2011.

Managing Director Andy Wilding said, “We’re very pleased to have retained our AEO status.  This was an important inspection for us as it was the first time we’ve been visited by AEO regulators since opening our new warehouse.

“We received some very useful feedback and made improvements as a result. We’re very proud to once again be recognised as operating within our industry with the very highest standards.”
