Globex Freight Management was created in 2003 by husband and wife team Andy and Kim Wilding. Andy began a career in the shipping and freight forwarding industry in the summer of 1975 and is a professional member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Institute of Freight Professionals and Institute of Export. Kim has been involved in accountancy since 1978.
Offering a wide range of services from customs brokerage to freight forwarding and warehousing, we can support you and your business with seamless transportation and logistics solutions. Serving clients on a local, national and international scale, we provide the sophistication and assurance of a large corporate organisation with the attention to detail of a small, local business.
With combined experience of almost 100 years in the shipping industry, we are experts in our field. OUR MILESTONES
September 2003
The company was formed by husband-and-wife team Andy and Kim Wilding, it remained quiet whilst the foundations of the business were put into place.
April 2005
Expansion into importing, we began to bring goods from Malaysia to the UK. This soon set us on the way to the wide range of multinational import and export services we offer today.
November 2004
Export services began for a small range of customers, starting to send goods to Malta.
June 2005
The business grew too big for the home office and the first commercial office was rented in Felixstowe.
July 2006
New staff were taken on board. Business grew further and additional staff were needed to keep up with the incoming demand.
April 2007
Acquired a partnership with Omni Freight Services to give specialised exports to Malta and double the outreach of import and export services.
May 2011
Gained the Authorised Economic Authorisation (AEO) status and became a professionally recognised freight company by Customs and Excise.
October 2016
A new warehouse opportunity at Martlesham Heath Business Park arose to enable us to deal personally with the export goods and movement into pick and pack services.
July 2015
Steady growth meant that the expansion into warehouse handling and pallet services added a new department and staff to the business.
February 2013
Business grew further in the imports field so new staff members were taken on again.
May 2017
We completed a full office re-location to Martlesham from Felixstowe to keep all staff together and begin cross-training across all departments.
April 2018
Further growth and expansion. More staff recruited. Warehouse services grew quickly so dedicated personnel were employed.
April 2021
Due to Brexit, the export service demand increased so further staff were bought on to handle the new influx of trade services.
March 2023
Regular Maltese exports and specific customer needs had us expanding into another site to allow pick and pack and external products to be separated and turned over quicker.

ANDY WILDING,
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Andy is the founder member of the business, having established Globex Freight Management in September 2003. As Managing Director, he oversees the direction, management and control of day-to-day business.
Andy has nearly 50 years’ experience working in the shipping and freight forwarding industry. He began his career in the summer of 1975 and attained professional status in 1990 by completing exams in the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Institute of Freight Professionals, Institute of Export and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.
In 2011 he completed the industry’s Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status for the company.
KIM WILDING,
FINANCE DIRECTOR
Kim has been with Globex Freight Management since it was established in 2003. She has over 40 years’ worth of experience in running Financial departments including aiding with digital VAT reporting trials for HMRC.
CARL HAWES,
IMPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER
Carl joined Globex Freight Management in February 2013 and is responsible for customs formalities, distribution and customer service.
After a 14-year career within the commercial energy industry, he moved on for new challenges. He is now in his 10th year in the freight industry and oversees all international shipments to the UK for a broad range of clients and products. His knowledge of customs regulations offers help and guidance to all our customers and ensures all every job we manage meets their changing needs.
NICK WILDING,
DIRECTOR OF WAREHOUSING AND DISTRIBUTION
Nick joined the company in August 2015 after graduating from university. He initially joined to help manage the increase in demand in all areas of the business before the Warehousing department needed full time Management. Once the warehouse needs moved in house to the Martlesham location, he oversees all goods inward, distributions and stock management.
IAN WILDING,
WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR
Ian joined the family business in 2018 when the Warehouse turnover increased to more than the current staff capacity. He oversees customer goods of every shape and size to and from our location. Having previously spent over 40 years in Heavy Machinery maintenance, he was the ideal candidate as he also able to provide internal specified maintenance to all machinery and plant equipment.
EMMA WILDING,
DIRECTOR OF EUROPEAN OPERATION
Emma joined the company at the end of the pandemic after a colleague retirement and an increase in Export work following the UK’s leave from the European Union. She deals with all European movements to and from the UK and Ireland from full containers down to palletised goods. Having previously run her own business, she is able to adapt to the daily needs of the business and assist in all departments during the peaks of business trade.
